Cranbourne Primary School

Where Learning and Friendships Grow

Meet The Governors

Mrs Paula Jenkins - Headteacher
Start Date 01/09/18

I became Headteacher at Cranbourne Primary School in September 2018. Over the last twenty five years, I have worked in a number of schools within the borough of Bracknell Forest. Predominantly, my class teaching days were happily spent in Early Years or Key Stage One but I have never been afraid to venture into Key Stage Two either! I have held numerous leadership roles including Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator; Assessment Lead; Deputy Head Teacher; Acting Head Teacher and Co-Head Teacher.

I love working with children—there is never a dull moment! In all the roles I have held in education, I feel I have always approached them with the children’s best interests at heart and with the belief that I am there to be the children’s advocate.

Mr Nick Payne - Chair of the Board of Governors / Co-opted Governor
Start Date - 09/07/15  End Date - 18/05/27

It has been my absolute pleasure to serve as a governor at Cranbourne since 2008. Originally a parent governor – our three children have all attended Cranbourne – I am now a governor that has been co-opted on to the governing board.

My background is in the commercial world, in both setting up and growing businesses, and managing acquisitions. Nowadays, my time is spent supporting Cranbourne, working as an Appropriate Adult and helping families book Walt Disney World holidays!
During my time as a governor, I have been heavily involved in four Ofsted inspections, two headteacher recruitments, one deputy headteacher recruitment, two major building programs, one tercentenary celebration, and supporting the school through two challenging deficit budgets and one pandemic!

As well as being Chair of Governors, I am also the safeguarding and finance governor and head up the school’s headteacher performance management and pay committees.

It has been a privilege to serve the school, to support the headteacher and wonderful staffing team, and to see all of the pupils flourishing and achieving in a safe, collaborative, friendly and fun environment.

I believe that as a parent governor, I can offer perspective as a key shareholder in the school but more importantly, enable to help our school to develop to meet the needs of our children and community.

As a newly elected parent governor in 2022 I feel privileged to be able to be part of the board in assisting with their role. I work in financial services and for the last 34 years my career has ranged from the high street banking world, full financial planning, property lending managing divisions of corporates as a director to now where I set up my own mortgage services brokerage back in 2020.

This life/career experience certainly gives a well-rounded view of life which will benefit the board and myself in looking at the planning and structure for the school, its staff and children going forwards.
