Unauthorised Absence

This is an extract from the full Attendance Policy:

Cranbourne Primary School take such requests extremely seriously as we believe every lesson matters; every day and half-day counts. Therefore leave of absence during term time is actively discouraged, as it is the schools belief that such breaks away from School damage the Child's continuity of learning.

Research carried out by the department for Children, Schools and Families has shown that:

'There is a strong correlation between the amount of absence in a school and the qualifications that its pupils receive'.

In line with Bracknell Forest guidelines, leave in term term will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.

Should parents wish to apply for leave during term time, they must complete a 'Leave of Absence in Term Time' request form. The form can be downloaded (see top of page).
