Pastoral Support Practitioner Introduction

Here at Cranbourne Primary School, our Pastoral Support Practitioner (PSP) is Simone Cadette. Simone is a qualified Psychological Psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience, working with children, young people, adults and families with a variety of complex needs. Simone is qualified and experienced in the clinical practice of Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness.

 

PSP Service

The aim of the Pastoral Support Practitioner Service is to support you and your child to get the best from school and other services within Bracknell Forest. This is achieved by listening to parents and carers and giving confidential support and guidance.

Support for Parents/Carers:

  • One to one parent/carer support
  • Therapeutic parent/carer and child play sessions
  • Signposting to parenting programmes and local support groups
  • Support parents/carers in accessing their own learning opportunities

Support for Children:

  • Drop-in Sessions
  • Check-in Chat
  • Themed Play Work
  • Play Ground and Classroom Observations

PSP aim to achieve the following:

  • To build parents and carers confidence to deal with difficult parenting issues and behaviours
  • To strengthen relationships and communication between home, school and other services
  • To help your child learn how to manage the difficulties they may be facing and resolve negative past experiences
  • To help your child develop new and healthier ways of managing stress they may be experiencing in their daily life
  • To help your child improve how they relate to other people e.g., family, friends and teaching staff
